I need an Air Fuel Ratio Sensor for a non-original application?

Air Fuel Ratio (AFR) sensors are complex electronic devices and require their own ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) to operate correctly, usually found in the vehicle Electronic Control Unit (ECU).

Any AFR sensor fitted that is not to exact specification will not function correctly without, what we will call for this explanation, the “marriage triangle”;

  • Vehicle married to correct ECU
  • Correct AFR sensor married to ECU’s ASIC
  • AFR married to correct vehicle.

Air Fuel Ratio Sensor For Non Original Application

The air fuel ratio sensors we supply at O2Sensors.com.au are matched to all 3, sorry but we cannot help with non -specific non-original applications.

Vehicle manufacturers have control of this technology relationship, so all sensors we sell are derived from the manufacturers information and vehicle data supplied. You don’t need to know any of this background information to purchase the correct sensor, all you need to know is how to identify your vehicle as long as there hasn’t been any changes to this triangular marriage.

Unfortunately, if you have one piece of this triangle missing, we cannot help you.

Modern vehicles are made to meet strict emissions regulations and to do this they need very specific tolerances, and this technology marriage is very vehicle specific. Any AFR sensor fitted that is not to exact specification will not function correctly and could possible damage your vehicle.
